Rooted in your mission
Fractional Salesforce leadership for nonprofits
Your organization runs on Salesforce. You have a team managing it day to day. What you don't have is a senior strategist making sure the platform is actually serving your mission. That's where we come in.
No vendor loyalties. No billable-hour incentive to over-engineer your platform.
Every other Salesforce consultant has a financial reason to sell you more work. We don't. Cliffrose operates independently, with no SI partnerships and no product affiliations. Our only incentive is making your Salesforce investment actually work for your mission.
Services
What we do
Cliffrose fills the strategic gap between your internal Salesforce team and the big consulting firms. Senior guidance your platform needs, without the full-time cost or the billable-hour incentives.
Platform Strategy & Roadmapping
We assess where your Salesforce org is today, where your mission needs it to go, and build a practical roadmap to get there. No shelf-ware. Real plans tied to real capacity.
Architecture & Technical Review
Data model review, integration architecture, automation audit. We make sure your technical foundation can support what you're building on top of it.
Admin Mentorship & Team Development
Your admin is capable. We help them grow. Regular guidance, architecture coaching, and a safe place to think through hard problems together.
Vendor & SI Oversight
When your systems integrator recommends a direction, we pressure-test it. Independent perspective. No vendor loyalties. Honest assessment of whether the recommendation serves you.
AI & Technology Strategy
The Salesforce ecosystem is evolving fast. We help you evaluate what's real, what's hype, and what's actually worth investing in for your specific context.
Hands-On Build
When the situation calls for it, we build. Flows, Apex, LWC, integrations. Principal-level development when you need it, informed by the strategic context we already understand.
Built on your mission, not our assumptions.
Approach
How we work
We're not the consultants who swoop in with a slide deck, hand you a recommendation, and disappear. We sit alongside your team and figure it out together.
Listen first
We start by understanding your mission, your team, your data, and the real constraints you're working within. The technology conversation comes after.
Build the map
A practical roadmap grounded in what your organization can actually absorb. Phased, prioritized, and honest about tradeoffs.
Walk alongside
Ongoing strategic guidance. We stay engaged, mentor your team, review the work, and adjust the plan as things evolve. The relationship is the value.
Designed for organizations that thrive in constraints.
Why Cliffrose
The cliffrose is a flowering shrub native to the American Southwest. It grows on sandstone cliffs and limestone ledges, in places where water is scarce and conditions are harsh. It's fragrant, resilient, and quietly beautiful.
I first read about it in Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire while working in the Desert Southwest, running adventure education programs out of Joshua Tree and spending time in Arches and Zion. The image stuck: something that thrives where almost nothing else can.
That's what I see nonprofits doing every day. Meaningful, necessary work in conditions that would break most organizations. They don't need a consultant who creates dependency. They need someone who helps them build the conditions to thrive on their own.
I'm Luke Thorson. I've spent 8+ years and 50+ client engagements in the Salesforce ecosystem, working across architecture, development, and solution design. I started Cliffrose because I believe nonprofits deserve the same caliber of strategic technology guidance that Fortune 500 companies take for granted.
Let's talk about what you're building
If your nonprofit is navigating Salesforce decisions and could use a strategic partner, I'd like to hear about it. Typical engagements run 10-20 hours per month on retainer.
